In a video conference on February 16, 2022 with Dr. Steffen Meyer, Head of Department in the Federal Chancellery and responsible, among other things, for medium-sized business policy, the representatives of the Event Management Forum again formulated the demand for a central contact of the Federal Government for the event management. Dr. Meyer as a good step that will also help the event industry. However, as long as there is no planning security for autumn and winter, the expiring aid measures must be transferred to an industry-specific special program in the medium term and protection must be ensured beyond 2022, the association representatives replied, emphasizing the lead times, the postponed events and the overall state of the industry .
dr Meyer promised his support and will be available for further discussions at a follow-up appointment. As a representative of the BKM, Dr. Jan Ole Püschel is there. He confirmed that the events industry includes much more than the cultural sector and that coordination within the BMWK makes sense.
