Self-conception, values and goals of isdv e.V.
Self-conception:
The isdv sees itself as the legitimate representative of self-employed and freelance professionals from the event industry vis-à-vis politicians at federal and state level, at European level and within the industry. It represents the opinions of the association's members at member meetings (twice a year), online member meetings (every two weeks), at trade fairs and in personal discussions with the board.
isdv sees itself as an anchor point for the self-employed and companies. It advises and supports member companies on issues relating to their activities as entrepreneurs, the structure of the company, its administration, expansion, company succession and training and further education.
Furthermore, isdv also sees it as its duty to support trainees and employees and offer assistance without assuming the role of an employee representative body.

isdv has agreed on the following association values in its compliance guideline:
- Respect, trust and confidentiality are mutual.
- Transparency internally for all bodies of the association and externally for everyone.
To this end, isdv is entered in the transparency register of the German Bundestag and the European Union. - Commitment in the statements made.

- isdv distances itself from all forms of discrimination, bullying, sexual harassment and racism and does not tolerate these either in its own association or in the companies of its members

The aims of isdv's activities are:
- Strengthening self-employment and freelance work in the event industry and beyond.
- Social security for the self-employed and freelancers.
- Legally compliant assignments and resolution of the status issue/self-employment.
- Introduce a compensation regulation in the Infection Protection Act so that the financial situation of affected companies is clear in the event of events that require restrictions on business activities (pandemic or similar).
- An informed, self-confident and strong business community.
- Backing for the self-employed.
- Protective shield for the self-employed.
- Creating a strong, independent community.
- Platform for low-threshold exchange among members.
- Shaping working and living conditions in and with the event industry.
- Establish networks outside the event industry that are helpful for the self-employed and freelancers.
- Influence legislative processes in the interests of the members.
- Transformation of the event industry into an economically, ecologically and socially sustainable sector.
