Child allowance: “Notfall-KiZ”
Dear Parents,
Since April 1st, 2020, child allowance can be applied for. This amounts to up to 185 euros per month per child and, together with the child benefit, covers the needs of a child.
The child allowance is an additional financial support for working parents who earn enough for themselves, but for whom it is not enough or only just enough to meet the entire needs of the family.
Those who receive the child supplement are also entitled to benefits for education and participation and are exempt from day-care center fees.
Use the emergency KiZ if your earnings are not sufficient to support the family. This can happen, for example, if you...
- receive short-time allowance,
- are self-employed and currently have no or reduced income,
- have less salary due to overtime or
- currently receiving unemployment benefit or sick pay.
The regulations are limited until September 30, 2020 and can be applied for during this period.
