isdv on site: Meeting of the federal working group of self-employed associations

isdv on site:

On February 11, 2020, the first meeting of the federal working group of self-employed associations for this year took place in Axica Berlin. This association has been in existence for three years now, this is the 10th meeting.

We can look back on good successes and on an alliance that is becoming ever stronger and more influential.
Two politicians came to us today.
The first interlocutor is Mr Wilfried Oellers, CDU, member of the Labor and Social Affairs Committee. We want to hear from him what the CDU is preparing on the subject of old-age insurance for the self-employed and the amendment of the status determination procedure according to §7 SGB IV, what views it represents and what ideas are discussed.

Mr. Oellers has some good ideas up his sleeve. Some are consistent with our suggestions, others we will take a closer look at. However, there are also suggestions where we can explain why we think they are unlikely to work. He is very open to our arguments and is impressed by the complexity of our associations. The conversation with him continues. Mr. Oellers expressly requested this. We will now prepare the next discussion in the bogus self-employment group.

The second guest was Dr Roy Kühne, CDU, Health Committee. The conversation with him is about health insurance contributions for the self-employed and our demand that the various social systems work more closely with each other on the subject of the self-employed and have to coordinate. Social protection must be thought of as a whole and not health in and of itself, old-age security and taxes in and of themselves. The total tax burden on the self-employed is already very high. Social security must not be so expensive that it overwhelms the self-employed. That will not find acceptance. It is clear that it will cost the self-employed something and is no longer a fundamental discussion. However, the total tax burden (taxes, KV, AV, bureaucracy costs, etc.) must not push the self-employed to the wall.

Dr Kühne can agree with that and proposes a working session with Federal Minister Spahn. We should develop a basic paper on this and he will take care of the date. It will happen now.
At this meeting we finally had time to talk about future strategies, to align events that the associations do for themselves and to look for further synergies among themselves. Great connections emerged that will now be pursued further. The ISDV will be able to welcome some association representatives at the Prolight and Sound.

The next meeting of the BAGSV will take place on May 12th, 2020. Also in the Axica congress and conference center in Berlin.

The isdv is always right in the middle.
