Already in the days before the major demonstration on September 9th, 2020 in Berlin, there were first talks in government circles and since the demo the number of hits has increased massively. Unfortunately, due to the abundance of individual reports, it was not possible to create them.
Colleagues from BDKV, EVVC, FAMAB, VPLT and the action alliance AlarmstufeRot were always present at these talks in all federal ministries, the most important committees and bodies. We agreed intensively with each other, distributed areas of discussion and topics, so that no area, no company size and no needs remained unaddressed, unoccupied or forgotten. This strategy was extremely effective and strengthened and stabilized all of us in the political arena.
An example of such a conference is the conversation with the parliamentary state secretary Thomas Bareiß of the BMWI in the picture. Representatives of the BMF, BMAS and the Corona Aid Task Force can also be seen.
The Bridging Aid 2 has only a few small detail changes. Opening the cap (EUR 9,000 and EUR 15,000) is a start, but the elimination of the EUR 50,000 cap will really help.
There is no significant improvement in sight for the self-employed. The barriers to entry have been lowered, but that doesn't help anyone who has hardly any ongoing operating costs. The extension of the simplified access to basic security has already been decided and instructed to the authorities. We know how well this has worked in the past... But all parties want to stick to this. In addition, there should be an increase, possibly even a complete omission of the asset test and also possibly the recognition of all forms of investment as old-age provision. The decision could be available in mid-October and would then apply retrospectively.
We keep at it. The cooperation between the associations works very well and in this constellation we are now continuing along this path.
