The bridging aids are unlocked. Applications for aid can only be made through tax consultants and auditors or chartered accountants. As of today, they register with the portal www.überbrückungshilfe-unternehmer.de. In the coming week, these should then be released for an application.
What is to be done now by entrepreneurs (with and without employees):
1. Bring accounting up to date. Especially 2019 must be finished.
2. Create a list of all operational fixed costs (also the one-time annual costs for insurance, for example).
3. Contact the tax advisor or find a tax advisor now.
4. Comparison of the fixed costs with the 13-point list of the BMWI (see document key points for the economic stimulus package of the BMWI)
5. As soon as the tax advisor has given his approval for the application, apply for bridging assistance immediately.
A first-come-first-serve principle applies. If the pot of 24.6 billion euros is empty, there will be no more help. This is the current status from today's press conference by Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier.
It's just a drop in the bucket for any business, no matter the size. Many entrepreneurs will go away empty-handed this time too. Despite all the protests from all sectors of the German economy, the federal government decided to do this.
It is therefore also the time when all entrepreneurs have to prepare for a very long-term standstill in the event industry and now have to set the course for social security.
Going into basic security is anything but easy. Both emotionally and in terms of the appreciation shown, the philosophy of life and the possibilities of movement that I have as an entrepreneur if I draw basic security.
We would like to encourage you to take this path now, since there is no other option in sight.
