A video conference of the SPD Economic Forum took place this morning. The topic of the event was “The future of the social system”.
Over 100 people were in the sixty-minute call with Federal Finance Minister Olaf Scholz.
He first reported on how he sees the future, that the system is still strong and that the financing of the system is also secured. The latter is the main point of contention with the other parties in the Bundestag.
When it came to the question and answer session, the events industry was very well represented. Sandra Beckmann and Marcus Pohl asked two out of three allowed questions. Sandra on SGB2/ALG2 and Marcus on the status determination procedure (bogus self-employment). Including the answer by BM Scholz, the question time was unfortunately already taken.
Important answer to the SFV from Mr. Scholz: "Don't change the law, but determine it more quickly...everyone can describe their problem to me and I'll tell them in a minute whether they're self-employed or not. It really isn't difficult.”
We want to know more about that now. Mr. Scholz seems to have a different idea than Hubertus Heil or the German pension insurance.
