isdv and VCA together at Prolight + Sound 2019

The isdv - the professional association of the self-employed in the event industry - and the VCA - Vintage Concert Audio Show & Experience - have joined forces for a joint stand at the Prolight & Sound/Musikmesse 2019.

The isdv & VCA show the Milienials more than 200 exhibits as well as all the milestones of the concert audio history of the 1960s, 70s, 80s and 90s. Visitors can see what the world was like before line arrays and digital consoles. That's how the Here, technicians and engineers are given back their “toys” from before the 2000s era.

The organizers have collected the exhibits in Frankfurt from deep cellars and the furthest corners of halls throughout Europe. Everything from the first WEM, Vox and Marshall vocal systems to Martin Modular, Meyer MSL3, Clairbrothers S4 and the first L'Acoustics Line Array is represented. And in large parts even audible: Every day there is an audio panel dedicated to decades, in which sound engineers of the respective time tell their stories, philosophize about the technology of the time and, of course, also answer questions from visitors to the stand.

The isdv then organizes panels with daily changing content and daily new discussion partners from politics, science and the industry on the topics of "work and social affairs". Daily rates are discussed here as well as bogus self-employment and the future of our industry.

A get-together takes place every evening, at which the VCA presents an original setup of a contemporary PA for the respective decade, which can be heard and tried out. With live recordings from tape machines – vinyl records and compact cassettes.

Wolfgang "Schabbach" Neumann (VCA): "We want to preserve the heritage, culture and knowledge of analog concert audio technology and the concert audio industry and pass it on to interested people."

Marcus Pohl (isdv): "We want to talk about everything that moves the industry across generations. We want to send impulses to the industry so that something finally changes. The past is very important to understand the industry.”

The isdv and the Vintage Concert Audio Show will be on Forum Level 0 at the Festhalle.
